The main functions of the gut include, on the one hand, the digestion and absorption of nutrients and, on the other hand, the excretion of indigestible food particles and waste products from the body. Furthermore, the gut is one of the few organs that is in direct contact with the environment, which is why the gut-associated immune system is of particular importance. The resulting unique position of this organ system explains why damage to the intestinal mucosa and gut flora has far-reaching consequences for the entire body. Particularly in horses experiencing exceptional circumstances such as illness, foaling, stress and increased performance demands, the gastrointestinal tract is no longer able to perform its complex functions, which can manifest in a wide variety of ways, such as yawning, teeth grinding, loss of appetite, susceptibility to colic, weight loss, reduced performance, back problems and unridability.

Brandon plus gastrointestinal helps the body to maintain the health of the gastrointestinal mucosa, improves the regeneration of the intestinal villi and, consequently, nutrient absorption in the gut, and helps to build a balanced gut microbiome. A modern, technical process (micellisation) coats the micronutrients, enabling them to be better absorbed in the gut and to reach their destination more quickly. Nucleotides serve as the basis for the functional building blocks of cell renewal, thereby accelerating the regeneration of damaged tissue. The gently cracked linseed, with its natural mucilage, coats the walls of both the stomach and the gut, thereby protecting them from harmful influences. Furthermore, stimulating the pre- and probiotic properties of the β-glucans and brewer’s yeast contained in the product supports the natural functions of the digestive system.

Feeding recommendation

Approx. 20 g per 100 kg of body weight per day, or as directed by your vet.
Brandon^® plus gastrointestinal should be mixed into the feed.

Not suitable for mineralisation to cover requirements.

Feeding advice:
As this supplementary feed contains higher levels of vitamins and trace elements than complete feeds, it must only be fed to horses at a rate of up to 1.33 % of the daily ration (including hay). Please follow the feeding recommendations.
