Equilac® Classic

Complementary feed for horses

broodmare feed optimised for requirements

When mare and foal are well after birth and the foal finds its way to the milk source on wobbly legs, the relief and joy of the breeder is great. By feeding the mare correctly during pregnancy and lactation, we can create the decisive basis for the little hopeful to become a healthy sports and leisure companion.

  • Balanced protein-energy ratio and rich in essential amino acids
  • With herbs, oils and oleaginous fruits
  • Optimal ratio of trace elements

FEED FERTILITY
Three months before the planned mating date, the ration should have a high vital substance content but moderate energy value. Additional administration of St. Hippolyt Beta-Carotin Mare-Y-Mix, trace elements (MicroVital) and nucleotides (High Performer) improve the conception ability. After successful conception, continue to feed micronutrient-rich but energy-adapted feed. At the beginning of the last third of pregnancy, the feed should be switched to Equilac broodmare feed.

NUTRIENTS FOR TWO
The proven Equilac broodmare feed has been developed on the basis of many years of experience in thoroughbred breeding. It is suitable for all breeds of horses. Equilac contains particularly high-quality proteins. In addition to an optimal protein-energy ratio, all vitamins and minerals, including the essential trace elements, which the growing foal needs for a healthy development, are combined in a ratio adapted to its needs. Brewer's yeast, germs, numerous maritime components and other vital substance suppliers round off the recipe.

zucht

As supplementary feeding to the daily basic feed supply with roughage and/or pasture grass, we recommend to slowly replace the previous crib feed quantity with Equilac from the 8th month of pregnancy.

9-11 months of pregnancy: approx. 400-500 g per 100 kg body weight and day.

1.-3. lactation month:: approx. 500 g per 100 kg body weight and day, as the highest milk yield is to be expected around the 2nd lactation month.

The total amount should be spread over several rations.
For easy-keepers, reduce the ration by approx. 10-15 % and add approx. 5 g per 100 kg body weight and day of Gemüse-Kräuter-Mineralien. Supplement RiceLein or C'Real Basics® for hard-keepers.

From the 5th month of lactation: Gradually reduce Equilac. Stop feeding the broodmare feed when the foal is weaned.

1 litre corresponds to approx. 750 g

Feeding advice:
This complementary feed may only be fed to horses up to 33.3 % of the daily ration (incl. hay) due to the higher content of vitamins and trace elements compared to complete feeds.
Please follow the feeding recommendation.

Hipp Tip!
For older horses, hasty eaters or horses with teeth, chewing or gullet problems, we recommend enriching muesli with water or switching from muesli to pelleted feed, soaking it with sufficient water and feeding it as a mash.
Please be sure to keep your horse hydrated.
