Linseed oil
Feed material for horses
Cold pressed & natural
St. Hippolyt Linseed oil is a natural and above all rich source of vital polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Linseed oil has the highest concentration of omega-3 fatty acids of all known vegetable oils and is therefore very sensitive to heat and mechanical processing.
The gentle cold-pressing process of St. Hippolyt Mühle Ebert ensures optimal oxidative stability (low peroxide numbers) and few free fatty acids as indicators of a particularly high-quality product.
- 50 % Omega-3 fatty acids
- Valuable due to cold pressing
- Highest quality level due to gentle sedimentation process
A VALUABLE SUPPLEMENT
Unsaturated fatty acids from valuable vegetable oils ensure better blood flow, special coat shine and good hoof structure. As a component of the cell walls, they play a decisive role in the regeneration of nerve, skin and other organ cells. Likewise, the body's own formation of anti-inflammatory and immunologically effective prostaglandins is dependent on the presence of alpha-linolenic acid. High-quality vegetable oils serve as a starch-, sugar- and protein-free energy source for horses that are stomach sensitive, have weak muscles or are allergic to cereals. According to findings of the Kentucky Equine Research Institute, vegetable oils reduce the glycaemic index of cereal-rich rations and thus improve performance.
GENTLY EXTRACTED
St. Hippolyt vegetable oils are of particularly high quality. They are cold-pressed under 40 °C at only moderate pressure and then skimmed off in a gentle sedimentation process so that no thermal, chemical or mechanical stress destroys the sensitive fatty acids. The raw materials for the oils come from controlled contract farming. The high quality of the raw materials in combination with the gentle processing and the fact that no filtering is used gives these oils their special flavour. Vital substances rich in turbidity and valuable oil accompanying substances are thus preserved natively.
