A winter must-have: Irish Mash® and Glyx-Mash®!

Mash it properly!

Why, how, how often and, above all, which mash should be fed to which horse?
We’re here to set the record straight!

Why?

For centuries, Mash has been fed to animals after hard work, during convalescence or to prevent colic. Thanks to its ingredients and particularly high palatability, mash can be offered as the first meal following colic, surgery, during convalescence, or in cases of loss of appetite and chewing difficulties. It stimulates the metabolism and digestion, and is designed to cleanse the gut, aid digestion and support a healthy diet. Thanks to its gut-nourishing properties, it can improve feed conversion and thus weight gain in fussy eaters. Mash supports recovery after competitions, breeding and foaling, and has proved particularly effective during the change of coat.

The benefits at a glance:

  • Activates metabolism and digestion
  • Cleanses the bowel, aids digestion and is designed for dietary purposes
  • Can improve feed conversion and, consequently, weight gain in horses that are difficult to feed
  • Supports recovery after competitions, foaling and the use of a blanket
  • Has proved particularly effective during the moulting season

How often?

We recommend, depending on the purpose of feeding approx. 70–200 g per 100 kg of body weight Mix with 1.5 to 2 times the amount of warm, not boiling, water and serve after it has stood for approx. 15 minutes. If using cold water, the soaking time increases to approx. 30 minutes.

How often?

As a general rule, feed 3–4 times a week; if necessary, a smaller portion can also be given daily.

Which mash?

  1. Irish Mash® is suitable for any horse that does not require a grain-free diet. Irish Mash® It should not be omitted from the feeding plan on rest days, during the moulting season, after increased exertion or following physical exertion.
  2. Glyx-Mash® It is, in turn, suitable for horses that are sensitive to cereals or have allergies. It is low in sugar and starch, free from cereals, molasses and gluten, and has prebiotic and detoxifying properties. Glyx-Mash® offers a healthy treat with no risk and no guilty conscience.
  3. WES Sensitive Mash It is particularly suitable for horses with sensitive stomachs and those with muscular and metabolic problems. It is a palatable, protein-rich mash that supports stomach and gut health and general wellbeing.
  4. Brandon® c-Mash It is suitable for horses with intestinal problems or following colic, surgery, worming and foaling. Brandon® c-Mash supports and strengthens the intestine’s natural cleansing process, thereby improving the absorption of nutrients.
